How To Enable (Some) UI Sounds In Tweetbot For Mac

Missing your precious UI sounds in Tweetbot for Mac? Michael is here to save the day.

I’ve figured out a relatively simple way to enable a few of the UI sounds. If you can figure out the others, tell me and I’ll update this post.

What you’ll need:

1. iOS device running Tweetbot for iPhone with filesystem access

2. Tweetbot for Mac

3. Glass of water

Using the file transfer utility of your choosing, (I use iFile to create a connection with my Mac) find Tweetbot on your iOS device.

It’ll be located in /var/mobile/applications/(random characters)/

From there, in the Tweetbot.app folder, you’ll need to bring the following files back to your Mac:

new_items.caf

notice_success.caf

bubble_pop.caf

notice_error.caf

There are many other .caf files, but none of them seem to work for me.

Next, find Tweetbot for Mac. Right-click and select Show Package Contents. Go into /Contents/Resources/, and drop the files. Then restart Tweetbot.

The following sounds should work:

Sending a tweet

Retweeting

Blocking/marking for spam

Follow/unfollow

Replies in Detail view

Muting

Errors/blocked

Unfortunately, the “Swoosh” sound effects when switching panels don’t seem to work. But there. That’s that. Have fun with your sounds.
